신시내티대학교는 (약자로 UC) 오하이오주의 신시내티에 위치한 주립대학교로서,1819년 설립되어 1870년 오하이오주의회에 의하여 미국 최초의 시립대학으로 인가를 받았다. 1943년 신시내티대학 연구재단이 창설되었다.1968년부터 시의 지원을 받는 준 주립대학으로서의 과도기를 거쳐 1977년 오하이오 주립대학교 가운데 하나가 되었다. 주립대학교가 되기까지 신시내티대학교는 미국에서 2번째로 규모가 크고, 역사가 오래 된 시립대학이었다. 1819년 신시내티컬리지로 시작한 신시내티의 가장 오래된 대학이기도 하며, 연4만명의 학생이 입학을 한다. 2012년 US News and World Report 조사에서 미국 내 1그룹대학으로 선정되었으며, 2011-2012년 레이든대학교 조사에서 세계93위, 미국 63위로 선정되었다. 100개의 학사학위를 포함하며, 자격증부터 박사학위까지 다양한 종류의 학위를 제공한다.
 현재 통합보건과학대학, 응용과학대학, 경영대학, 음악대학, 디자인·건축·예술·설계대학, 교육대학, 공과대학, 야간·평생교육대학, 법과대학, 의과대학, 간호대학, 약학대학, 맥미켄문리과대학, 사회사업대학, 유니버시티 칼리지, 레이몬드 월터 대학(분교), 클러먼트대학(분교) 등 17개 단과대학과 대학원이 있다.

This conservatory receives consistently high rankings from U.S. News and World Report for graduate music studies (sixth), voice (third), conducting (fifth) and musical theater. It also boasts strong electronic media and dance departments. Cincinnati offers bachelors and graduate degrees, and programs you don't often run across elsewhere, such as harpsichord, organ, piano accompaniment, and conducting with a choral emphasis or orchestral emphasis.
